Thank you to all the exchange students in District 7080, who have made the first year of exchange, my year as an Outbound, already more amazing than I could have ever imagined. I am going to miss you guys so much. It almost scares me how much I am going to miss you guys – how can so many incredible people be in one place at one time? How did I get so lucky as to become friends with them?
We will always be a part of District 7080, 2018-2019, wherever we go. Thank you for showing me what it means to be an exchange student, all of you. To Inbounds, thank you for teaching me how extraordinary the world is. To the Outbounds, thank you for sharing this journey with me and showing me another part of Canada.
Thank you to Emjay, Kuba, and Vero, my first introduction to Rotary Youth Exchange. You taught me about the program, and showed me the type of people that are a part of it – and because I was so impressed and inspired by your hospitality, your resilience, your enthusiasm, I decided to apply and become an RYE student as well. I was always consider you lifelong friends, no matter how far, and I will always remember you as outstanding examples of what I hope to be as an exchange student.
Thank you to Myriam, for teaching me a different way of life, and hosting me in your home for 3 months. Your family welcomed me into your home and taught me about the French way of life, and I am grateful for your hospitality and patience with me as I made mistakes and *slowly* learned French. Thank you for being an amazing exchange student in Canada, and taking everything in stride, always being happy to help and happy to learn about Canada.

Thank YOU! I think I speak for many if I say that we, the exchange students, have learned a fair amount from you. Your energy and positivity added fire and warmth to our year abroad. I am so fortunate to have you as a friend. I can’t wait to see you flourish on your year abroad, learning more and teaching more. ❤

This year with Rotary has really helped me discover so much about who I want to be, and all of you guys help me continue to grow into that person more and more everyday. I love you all more than I can ever express, and I’m so grateful that I got to know you guys as friends and as people to look up to.
Watch out for me in Estonia someday…. if they’re all as cool as you then it might just be the best place on Earth!!
